Form I-9 Documentation

The intention is to design a permanent resident card in order to prevent immigration fraud. The new green card and includes the state of modern technology to prevent fraud and to promote the correct authentication. More features will be useful law enforcement agencies, employers and immigrants - all of them to examine the evidence for the Green Card permit to live and work legally in the United States.

Although this appears to be a positive step in reducing incidents of ID theft and fraud, it actually creates more uncertainty for Employers. It is legitimate to identify the employers' burden when many employers are not familiar with every version of the Green Card issued over time.

There are several variants of the green card is issued over the years. The green card was issued in 1946 and at that time was referred to as an alien registration receipt card. Some of it still in circulation. They contain no expiration date and as of March 20, 1996, is no longer valid proof of residency. Other versions of Resident Alien Card issued in 1977 and again in 1989. Oddly enough, neither the 1977 nor 1989 was a green card.
